How we selected: this is a specification and retailer-offer comparison, not a hands-on test or an exhaustive ranking of every paddle. We checked the named Sweatband offers on 15 October 2026. Our buying advice is an interpretation of those specifications; feel and suitability remain individual.
“Lightweight” is only useful when you know the number behind the label. Our two lower-weight affordable options are the Vollint VT1 at a listed 210g ±10g and VT2 at 220g ±5g. They are not guaranteed to be the lightest paddles on the market, and their stated ranges overlap.
Compare the range before the headline weight
| Paddle | Retailer weight | Range in grams | Price checked 15 October |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vollint VT1 | 210g ±10g | 200–220g | £19.99 |
| Vollint VT2 | 220g ±5g | 215–225g | £29.99 |
| HEAD Attitude Team / Core | 230g listed | No individual tolerance verified | £34.96 / £37 |
We use “lighter” comparatively within this shortlist. Both Vollint models showed an available variant. A VT1 at the top of its range could weigh more than a VT2 at the bottom; ask the retailer whether an individual weight check is possible rather than assuming every VT1 is lighter.
Vollint VT1: lower nominal weight and lower price
Compare the VT1 first if your aim is a modest initial spend and a lower nominal mass. Its listed 13.5cm handle and 10.5cm grip circumference give you dimensions to compare with a paddle you can already borrow. The advantage is a £19.99 option; the limitation is the relatively broad ±10g tolerance. We have not measured swingweight or tested how it handles.

Vollint VT2: a narrower listed weight range
The VT2’s 220g ±5g specification gives a narrower stated range at £29.99. It has a listed 12.3cm handle and 10.8cm grip circumference. Consider whether those dimensions suit your hand before comparing its carbon face or 11mm core. A narrower published tolerance is useful buying information, not proof of better manufacturing or play.

Should you rule out a 230g paddle?
No. Total mass is one part of handling. Balance, handle fit and where the mass sits also influence what you notice when preparing a shot. The HEAD Attitude models are heavier on their listed figures, but we cannot rank their swingweight against either Vollint without measurements. Use the beginner comparison if a wider 15mm model matters more to you than the lowest nominal weight.
A practical weight checklist
- Start with a known reference. Note the exact paddle you can use at a club and what you find difficult about it. A vague wish for “light” is harder to act on than a specific fit problem.
- Ask for the specification. Check whether the seller lists one nominal weight, a tolerance, or selectable individual weights. Do not confuse a shipping weight with paddle mass.
- Allow for additions. An extra grip, protector or weight tape changes the finished setup. We have not weighed any accessory combination.
- Compare movement and grip together. Try the same relaxed preparation with different paddles. Avoid choosing by a number while ignoring an uncomfortable handle.
- Check the return terms before use. A retailer’s returns policy is not automatically a free on-court trial.
Is lighter automatically more arm-friendly?
We make no injury-prevention or treatment claim for these paddles. A lower listed mass does not establish that a particular person will find it comfortable. If comfort is your concern, try equipment with qualified guidance rather than relying on a “lightweight” label.
Our buying decision
Choose which specification to investigate, then check the exact current retailer offer. The VT1 is the lower-cost, lower-nominal-weight option here; the VT2 provides a narrower published range and different grip dimensions. If neither fits, keep looking rather than spending because one is available.
